About & FAQ

Welcome to Atomicbutterfly Photography ~ Thanks for stopping by!
Investing in your wedding photography. Because memories matter.

Who is Atomicbutterfly Photography?
Rachel is the owner, main photographer and editor. We have 3 freelance photographers that also shoot for us as main shooters and 2nd shooters, this allows us to be able to work on multiple weddings on the same days. We all find shooting weddings are most rewarding when documenting special moments in life and feel so lucky to get to do what we love every day. Our Beautiful little studio is in West Burleigh. We shoot with 2/4 Professional level cameras and a variety of lenses.

How far in advance do we need to book you?
Many popular dates are booked over 12 months in advance, so get in as early as possible! Secure your date early to ensure you won’t be disappointed. Please note that I limit my wedding bookings per year and my calendar is often full 10-12 months in advance so please contact me as soon as you can if you would like to secure your date!
How much do you charge?
We offer 3 photo collections starting from $2,100 and 3 photo + Videography collections. Please contact me for a detailed price list.
Do you do Videography?
Yes we offer Photography and Videography collections. Offering further discounts and savings when booking both.

How do we book?
Use my contact page on here along with as much of your wedding info that you have at the point of your email. When booking with us you are emailed your invoice and contract.

How can we pay?
I try and make things as easy as possible for you, I offer payment plans that I can put you on a monthly Direct Debit plan. A $500 non refundable payment is to be paid when booking to lock in your wedding date.

When do we get to see our photos?
Sneak peek will be posted on facebook/Instagram within 24hrs

When will we receive our photos?
Within 6-8 weeks after your wedding date. At this time you also have the option to purchase additional print product items such as photo prints + canvas prints + acrylic tiles + photo books + albums + framed storyboard prints + wooden photo blocks.

How do we receive our photos?
You will receive your high res images on a USB. When you receive your USB there will be two folders, one that contains all of the high-resolution images and the other which includes web sized images.

Do you work with a second shooter?
All our collections include a second shooter and will be with me for the same number of hours you book me for.

Can we meet before our big day?
After your mini engagement shoot we can have a chat or we can meet up at my studio when we are all free. If you’re a little further away, we can organize a phone call. Either way, I feel it’s extremely important to get to know each other. I put no limits on the amount of pre-wedding discussions we have.

Can I have a copy of all the original photos?
The photos that are selected are the very best images from your day. The time is spent on these editing these images so you get a beautiful end product. As a professional I am employed to eliminate all the test shots, bad shots and shots that aren’t a true representation of your day so you’re presented with a collection of images that you can immediately, print, share and most importantly love! It’s much the same is if you were having your dress made. The final product (being the dress) is what your dressmaker works on to present you with a beautiful, individually made gown fit for your body. She doesn’t share the muslin fitting trials or the fabric off-cuts. NO Raw or unedited images will be given out, So please don't ask for them.

Can I request particular photos?
Absolutely, I always urge clients to tell me any special photos they may want before the day so I can plan them in as best I can. However remember weddings are always limited on time so any time we spend doing requests is lost from elsewhere.

Destination Weddings
I am available to travel interstate and internationally. Weddings outside of Byron Bay to Brisbane travel fees may apply.
What if it rains?
Having a wet weather plan is always a good idea, but on the day bring along some plain umbrellas and I’ll just go with whatever you are comfortable doing. If for some reason we are left with no other alternatives then to shoot indoors for the entire photoshoot I will happily do a 2 hour re-shoot for you on another day.

I love to capture moments so they can be locked away in time and look forward to sharing some gorgeous images with you, as we follow along this amazing photography journey together. Sometimes we don't understand the importance of a single photo until that's all we have. If I can help make your memories timeless and beautiful, and if my style and working methods resonate with you, please feel free to contact me for my pricing. I can't wait to find out more about your big day!
